What better way to have your vehicle look its best than by having the Tragic City Rollers, Birmingham’s Premiere Roller Derby Team, wash your ride? Help support your local team by coming to Tom and Jerry’s on Highland Ave, June 4, from 10-4. We will wash it all from cars to bikes to kids to dogs. You bring it and for a five dollar donation, we’ll wash it. All donations will be used to help keep the team practicing and playing, so come on out and show us some love!

If you just can’t make plans to be at every home bout, we understand and TCR would never leave you hanging like that. Check out our 2011 Season Schedule and purchase tickets to whichever bouts you want to attend.

We’re going to be kicking down the doors of Skates 280 on January 3rd and 5th with a bunch of new chicks wanting to learn a little bit more about Roller Derby. Practices run from 8 to 10 pm….You in? Expect to learn some basics like stopping, keeping your balance, and falling (if you have pads). Also expect to meet some of the most awesome women EVER! Even though you’re not required to bring any of the below items, you may get to experience more of the action if you do:

• Knee pads (can’t fall without these!)
• Wrist guards
• Elbow pads
• Helmet
• Mouth guard (not totally necessary for recruit week)
• Skates of your choice (RENTALS ARE AVAILABLE)
• A pen, to sign that lovely waiver.

Think derby girls meet the dating game show! Tons of fun to be had by all, not to mention Speakeasy’s fabulous home team inspired drink, The Tragic City Rol…ler (two of these and you can declare yourself a beast of all drinks…3, and you should probably be skating with us)!

Everyone is welcome to come down and enjoy the show and everyone is welcome to be a contestant….where the prize is of course the biggest of them all, THE VOICE OF TCR!!

Contestant registration begins at 9 p.m. and everyone must be registered by 9:45. The show starts a 10 o’ clock sharp! Admission is one brand new unwrapped toy to be donated to DHR kid services.
